3D Bend is bend radius 3 times of the pipe outside diameter. for example if a 3D pipe bend used in a 10 inch pipelines, the bending radius would be 30 inches. Same with elbow (1D or 1.5D), 3D bend also ranges different degrees like 45 degree, 60 Degree and 90 Degree.

Steel pipe bend is very similar with elbows. They have same diameter range, wall thickness and end form. What’s the difference between them? It’s the radius. elbow has long radius (R=1.5D) and short radius ( R=1D) types, while bend radius is larger, such as 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, 7D, 8D, 9D and 10D.
